Inspect the Carpet The first thing your carpet cleaning technician will do upon arrival is to thoroughly inspect the carpeting in which he/she will be cleaning. They will need to identify what kind of carpet fibers they will be working with in order to choose the best method of cleaning for your specific carpeting. All fibers can be divided into two categories: natural and synthetic.
Identifying the Carpet Type A list of natural fibers that we service are: wool, cotton, silk and sisal / jute fibers. Natural fibers are derived from living organisms such as animals and plants. They are also sensitive to moisture and harsh cleaning products so these fibers must be treated with great care so to insure no damages will incur. You can rest assured that our technicians have been trained and are well equipped to handle these delicate fibers. A list of synthetic fibers that we service are: nylon, polyester, olefin and acrylic fibers. Synthetic fibers are made mostly of by-products of the coal and petroleum industries, which produce plastics. Synthetic fibers being very durable have excellent strength and are non-absorbent so the carpeting dries very quickly.

Remove Loose Dirt Once the carpet fibers have been identified the next step involves the four basic fundamentals of carpet cleaning. Ask yourself the process involved in washing day to day items such as clothes, dishes or even hair, most people would say first wash, then rinse, and then dry. You may not think of it but many times as a first step you would need to remove the loose and large soil such as caked on mud on a pair of blue jeans or scraping leftover food on plates before washing. As you may have guessed, the same process for cleaning everyday objects is also followed in the four basic carpet cleaning fundamentals. Because dry soil is easier to remove dry than when wet it is the first and most important step in the carpet cleaning process and should never be skipped.
The next function of carpet cleaning relates to the wash cycle. The purpose of this step is to remove the soil from the carpet fibers and hold it in suspension until it can be removed through cleaning. There are four ways to accomplish this and they involve the application of pre spray/carpet cleaning detergents, agitation/agitating carpet fibers, time/prespray dwell time, and heat/steam rinse. Without the help from carpet cleaning detergents we would be doing little more than rinsing small amounts of soil from the carpet. Water, by itself, is not a good cleaner. Just like when washing clothes it is important to use the right detergent to release soil, carpeting needs the same. We only use the best pre conditioning detergents on the market so your carpeting is left cleaner.
Agitation Once the pre treatment has been applied the next step is to agitate the carpet. We use a brush agitating method to better work in the the preconditioner and loosen the soil for maximum cleaning.
Dwell Time Dwell time is just important as the agitation, because all pre spray detergents have a set amount of time that it has to set/dwell on the carpeting to achieve best results. The pre-spray detergent that we use recommends 15 minutes dwell time, we choose to use the best detergents to insure fast expert results.
